Dorothy E. Gieser, 86, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Aurora, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2010 at her home. She was born December 12, 1923 in Port Arthur, Texas. Dorothy enjoyed communicating with her friends and relatives on her computer, creating wonderful artwork, and enjoying the companionship of her little dog, Yoko. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryln Hogan of Cordova, TN; her granddaughter, Meghan Hogan of Alexandria, VA; her grandson, Brian (Elaina) Hogan of Southaven, MS; her great granddaughter, Eva Hogan; her sister, Mary Lou (Robert) Nichols of Dixon, IL; her brother, William (Sharon) Jacobs of Montello, WI; her sister-in-law, Mildred Gieser of Decatur, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friends for more than 70 years, Betty Giles and Lucile Kane both of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard E. Gieser; her parents, Lavern Bell and Louise Bell Jacobs; her stepfather, William Jacobs; her sisters, June (Burton) Long, Margaret Vance and Barbara McMillan; and her brother, LeRoy Bell. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 from The Daleiden Mortuary at 11:30 AM to Holy Angels Church at 12:00 PM. Fr. Marianna Ery will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora. 630-631-5500 or visit our website at www.daleidenmortuary.com.
