Sherman S. Andrews, 75, died April 12, 2003 in Temple TX. Services at Connally Compton chapel, burial in Rosemound Cemetery.

Mr. Andrews was born in Groesbeck TX on May 16, 1927 to Jesse James and Verna Mae (Brown) Andrews.

He served in WWII in the Atlantic Theatre as a merchant marine on many hospital and supply ships.

On Nov 19, 1949 he married Peggie Louise Sawyers, and they were married 53 years before his death.
He loved being an outdoorsman, hunting, and fishing. Sherman was a loving grandfather to his precious grandchildren. A goal in his life was a quest for knowledge, mainly in the field of physics and mathematics.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Andrews; three brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors: wife, Peggie Andrews of Waco TX; sons, Tim Andrews of Winona TX and Rod Andrews of Kemp TX; daughter, Pam Eitel of Richardson TX; brother, Billy Andrews of Corpus TX; sisters, Lorene Beaver and Edna Adams both of Groesbeck TX, Janie Jackson of China Spring TX; Mozelle McDonald of Moffit TX, Ruby Lee Baker of Ft Worth TX, and Annabelle Eubank , Willie Child and Marie Finch all of Waco TX; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
