Alice M. "Meme" Blystone, 80, of Latrobe, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born Nov. 9, 1933, in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late David G. Richards and Clara M. (Andrews) Richards. Meme was a member of the Tree of Life Assembly of God, and was active with its mission programs. She had volunteered at the Life-Way Pregnancy Center, and along with her husband, had been foster parents through Adelphoi for many years. A 1951 graduate of Derry Township High School, she remained in touch with many classmates and was active with their class reunions. She enjoyed gardening and participating in the Deer Valley YMCA Camp. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. "Buck" Blystone; two great-granddaughters, Jerrica and Isabella; a great-grandson, Darius; one brother, David Richards; and one sister, Nancy Ridilla Worstell. Meme is survived by a son, Charles T. Blystone Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, of Enterprise, Fla.; a daughter, Marcie Bentz and her husband, Michael, of Scottdale; a foster son, Wayne Lee Clifford and his wife, Marcia, and family; two sisters, Dolly Anderson, of Latrobe, and Helen Nace, of Latrobe; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Blystone and his wife, Barbara, of Latrobe, and James Worstell, of Sanford, Fla.; four grandchildren, Cara Lake and her husband, Braden, Lara Miller and her husband, Charles, Mariah Bentz and Monica Bentz; four great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Courtney and Kyle Lake and Xavier Miller; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Gorski officiating. Interment will be private. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Meme's neighbors who took such great care of her, including Bill and Sandy Roof, Mark and Janet Bradley, John and Debbie Winebrenner, Ronda Beaken and family, Bev Hohr, the McCurdy family and her other special neighbors and friends.
