Bob was born in Chicago as the only child to John F. and Catherine C. Henderson in 1938. He met his wife to be, Kathy Ann Wood, at high school, where she wooed him away from the girl he was dating. They were married in April 1960 and had four children, Joan F.(July 7, 1960), Jeffery A.(April 23, 1962), Jill M.(June 21, 1965) and Joy P. (Nov. 21, 1966) all born in Cook Co., Chicago, Illinois. In the early 1970's Bob and his family relocated to Florida and eventually Cape Coral. Bob operated a hair salon in nearby Fort Myers.
Very shortly after settling in Cape Coral, his wife and mother of his children, Cathy, found it in her interest to leave him. Bob missed his kids a lot and spent as much time with them as he was allowed. Bob eventually found a new companion, Lola, and moved to Lehigh Acres FL..
Unfortunately, tragically, Bob lost his life on the evening of February 11, 2002, nine days after the birth of his namesake grandson. An elderly driver did not see him crossing the street in front of his home as he was returning from putting out the trash. Bob survived the ambulance ride to hospital, but could not be saved. According to his daughter, Jill, the street lights on Bob's section of street had been burned out for some months. She added that the responsible government entity had been negligent in rectifying the situation in a timely fashion. Robert Francis Henderson was 63 y.o.a.
