Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m., at the Carlsbad First Baptist Church for Alfred Card Lawrence, 47, of 126 North Sixth, Loving. The Rev. Charles Logue of Loving First Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be at Carlsbad Cemetery.
Masonic graveside services will be conducted at the grave by Eddy Lodge 21, AF & AM.
Lawrence died in a local hospital. He was born April 9, 1908, at Argyule, Tex. Lawrence graduated from high school at Odessa, and was married to Flora Reid on Dec. 22, 1929 in Carlsbad. He was employed by U.S.P.C. in 1936 and was a journey man millwright at the time of his death.
Lawrence was a deacon in the Loving First Baptist Church; Past Master of Eddy Lodge 21, AF & AM; a Royal Arch Mason of Signet Chapter number 9, and was also a member of the IAM local.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Flora Lawrence, Loving; his father, Fred Lawrence, Denton, Tex.; a son, Alfred R. Lawrence, Fort Myer, Va., and two brothers, W.E. Lawrence, Dallas, and Fred Lawrence, Jr., Fort Worth.
Pallbearers will be Grady Tidwell, J.H. Hinton. W. J. Davis, John Hill, V.G. Brunton and Ed Yarbro.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Caviness, W.W. Parchman, Eli Canady, Alvin Burton, G.B. Henderson, Jimmy Wyman, Dr. R.J. McLaughlin, George Steel, Lucian Fletcher, W.E. Parchman, Don Carver, J.E.
