Gladys M. Digruttolo Barry, age 90, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, August 20, 2005, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa.

She was born May 11, 1915, in Fort Hill, Pa., the daughter of Nicola Digruttolo and Maude Conn Digruttolo.

Gladys worked for many years for Authenrite's and then for Health Mart both in Brownsville.

She was a member and past officer of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 295. She was also a member since 1959 of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pa., and a member of Saint Peter's Confraternity of Christian Mothers.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Paul, James, Charles and Thomas "Dale" Digruttolo, and two sisters, Abbey Digruttolo and Lucy Dunie.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, James Thomas Barry; two sons: James Barry and wife, Susan, of Huntington Beach, California, and Thomas Barry and wife, Bonnie, of Brownsville, Pa.; one grandson, Thomas S. Barry of Brownsville, Pa.; one sister, Wilma Younkin of Casselman, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME (formerly Confer Funeral Home), 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and tomorrow (Tuesday, August 23) from 9 until 10 a.m. Services will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Vincent Gigliotti officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Peter's Church Cemetery, Route 40, Brownsville, Pa.
