BELINDA (WILLITS) MOORE
Belinda was the daughter of Rachel Brady (Willits) and Isaac Willits. She was born and raised in Wayne County, Indiana.

SIBLINGS
Belinda's siblings included; Brady, Harriet, Mark, Joshua, Reuben, Maria, and Newton Isaac. Plus she had a half brother Henry Willits that died in infancy and a step sister; Lydia Nixon.

HER LIFE
Due to her parents kinship they were dismissed from the Quaker Faith after their marriage. However, in 1816, when Belinda was only 8 years old her mother Rachel died at the young age of 39. After her death her father Isaac returned with Belinda and her siblings to join his Quaker Roots, possibly looking for help in raising his young, motherless family. Isaac himself was received in membership on Nov 30, 1816 at Whitewater Monthly Quaker Meeting in Wayne County, Indiana. Records also state that her brothers Joshua age 14, Reuben age 12 & Newton Willetts age 4, were received in membership on July 26, 1817 and Belinda age 9, and her sisters; Harriett age 20, & Maria age 7, were received in membership on Aug 30, 1817.

The 1820 census records Belinda's family living in Wayne County. Her father Isaac Willits, is listed as Head of House Hold: 1 male over 45 (Isaac), 1 16-26 (Joshua), 1 10-16 (Reuben), 1 under 10 (Newton); 2 females over 45 (1st Miriam, not sure who the 2nd would be?), 1 16-18 (Belinda?), 1 10-16 (Probably Maria or possibly be Miriam's daughter Lydia?)

On Dec 13, 1825 Belinda married Isaac Moore, son of Deborah (Willits) and Robert Moore. They were only married a few short years before Belinda died, possibly in child birth or maybe during the milk sickness outbreak? I found no burial information for Belinda so I'm not exactly sure where she is buried?

After her death Isaac migrated to Illinois with many other Wayne County, Indiana families. In 1849 he was remarried to widower Catherine (Van Eaton) Crow in Henderson County, Illinois. She had three sons; James, Henry and Washington Crow. They lived in Mercer County for awhile where their first two children; Mary and Pheobe were born. Sometime between 1851 and 1853 they migrating to Cass County, Iowa where they had three more children; Dora, John and Alice. Isaac died in 1880 and is buried with his second wife, Catherine, in the Campground Cemetery in Columbus City, Louisa County, Iowa.
