Benjamin Clark lived in Rochester where he was a farmer. His father, Abijah Clark, was a soldier in the American Army and was killed, accidentally, in the war of 1812-1814 Benjamin married Abigail Place Richardson in 1822. They had 4 children: George Washington 1829-1866, Mary Abbie 1836-1903, Lydia Ann 1823-1872 and Woodbury 1841- . George Washington Clark was part of the group who sailed from Jonesport in 1866 to set up the (failed) American Colony at Jaffa, Palestine.
Benjamin’s wife, Abigail, died 12 December 1862. He remarried, a Lucy Harlow (previously married name). He moved to New York and “died in his New York home in July 1879, from sunstroke while hoeing his field”.
