Richard E. "Richie" Adams, age 65, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Center Ridge Health Campus, North Ridgeville following a long illness.
Born in Oberlin, he had been a resident of Elyria for most of his life. Richie worked for Ford Motor Company, Brook Park retiring in February 2001 after more than 36 years. He attended Christian Unity Church, Grafton.
During the mid 1980's, he coached little league for Elyria West and received manager of the year. He was a member of UAW Local 1250 and the Ford Ambassador Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Veronica Coleman of Elyria; sons, Patrick (Christina) Adams of Elyria, Richard Jr. (Linda) Adams of Seymour, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Natassia Adams, Kathleen Coleman, Tyler Standislawski, Dustin Adams, Dominic Adams and Christian Adams; three step grandchildren, Justin Coleman, Mckenzie Coleman and Andrew Coleman; sisters, Charlotte Cutlip of Elyria, Patricia Causwell of Wellington, Elizabeth Adams of Lorain, Paula Adkins of Seiverville, Tennessee and Paul "Jim" (Lena) Adams of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Kay Adams in December 2009; brother, John Quincy Adams and parents, Paul R. and Ruth L. Adams.
Services were held at Faith Alive Church 162 Irondale St. Elyria, Ohio 44035. Pastor John Dutton officiated.
Burial will be in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange
