Last Monday at 2 pm the funeral of Marshall Schoonover father of Mrs. Jo Burkhadt was conducted from their home, five miles west of Scranton. He was born in Randolph Co, WVA May 17, 1821 and died Jan 26, aged 86 years 9 months and 22 days. He came to this state in 1879. For forty years he was a member of the Methodist church and was known to say that he was only waiting for the messenger to come for him for he was ready to go. He was the father of 10 children, six of whom survived him. For 20 years he has made his home with his daughter Mrs. Burkhardt and will be missed greatly by them. A large number attended the funeral an dwent to Highland Cemetery where the body was laid to rest.

He was the son of Joseph and Anna (Marstiller) Schoonover.
