Ruth Eloise "Marmie" Chester, 85, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Funeral: 3 p.m. Friday at Haltom Road Baptist Church. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet. Eloise loved and was loved by many people, including her family and church family at Haltom Road Baptist Church. She retired in 1989 from her calling of being a first and second grade teacher at Richland Elementary in the Birdville ISD. Eloise was preceded in death by her two granddaughters, Mandy Gregory and Christy Chester; her parents, Merwin and Elsie Turner; and sister, Peggy Turner. Survivors: Husband of nearly 65 years, Clay Chester; daughter, Catherine Chester; sons, Richard Chester and wife, Frances, Barry Chester and wife, Jana; grandsons, Patrick Chester and Glenn Gregory Jr. and wife, Beronica; great-grandsons, Joseph, Alex and Glenn Tomas "GT" Gregory; brother, the Rev. Merwin Turner; sisters, Mary Allen and Jeanette Sitz; and extended family.
