When Heinrich Blum was born on March 15, 1867, in Vonhausen, Hesse, Germany, his father, Johannes, was 30 and his mother, Mary, was 19. Heinrich came to the United States in 1885. He married Ida T Sahms in 1890. They had three children in 13 years; Ida May born 1892, William Walter born 1893 and Lillian Margaret born 1906. His primary occupation was baker but later in life he was a fireman and watchman. He died on January 30, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the age of 76.
