The funeral service for Mary Paulk Adam of Fitzgerald, who died Monday, September 23, 1996 at her residence, was held Thursday, September 26 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. She was 76.
Dr. Gene Wilder officiated at the 2:00 p.m. service with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Her son, Steven F. Paulk, gave the eulogy.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Ring, Jimmy Futch, Scott Pelham, Michael Mulkey, Curtis Kinnett, and William Clements.

The deceased was born July 24, 1920 in Ben Hill county to David L. and Mary Birdson "Birdie" Paulk. A homemaker and former music teacher, she was the widow of Clyde E. Adam and a member of First Baptist Church, Faith Sunday School class and Women's Missionary Union. Mrs.Adam had lived in Fitzgerald since 1978. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern College and was an American Red Cross representative in the Pacific & European Theater during WWII. Mrs Adam was also former assistant in the New York City Attorney General's office.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara A. Adam and Sandra Lee
Nieves, both of Fitzgerald, four sons, Steven F. Paulk of Laurel, DE, Alan David Adam of Fitzgerald, Frank Robert Adam of Huntington Beach, CA, and Richard David Adam of Allentown, PA; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, David L. Paulk, Jr.
