Mary Esther ( Tootsie) was the daughter of Ruth P Cooper and the late Dr. Lester Purdin. She was born in Adams County and graduated from the West Union High School in the class of 1961. She was a retired bookkkkeepr and office manager for a law office. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Union, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Janet Gilchrist and her son James Friedmann. Two grandchildren survive, Rebecca Gilchrist and Ethan Friedmann.
