He was a life member of the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department, an appropriate occupation for a man who never had a problem running towards a cause he felt worthy.
Lee loved our country and was a very proud U.S. Navy Veteran, having volunteered for the draft while still a college student. His service included a 14 month station in Viet Nam, with duties that often required him to travel on his own through various parts of Viet Nam, sometimes bartering his transportation by serving as a Helicopter Door Gunner to make his way from place to place. He shared a lifelong mutual respect with these brave pilots.
He was the brother of Lawrence (Frances) Bollman.
