He was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Meredith Allen on June 20, 1923, in Gary, IN. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and retired employee of U.S. Steel Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Effie Allen, and daughter, Nicolette S. Allen. He leaves to cherish fond memories his loving son, James (Mildred) Allen; grandson, Christian Allen; 2 granddaughters, Cheryl McDon-ald, all of Merrillville, IN, and Rhonda (Anthony) Davis of Gary, IN; 1 great-granddaughter, 6 great-grandsons, and many cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation Thursday, February 2, 2006, from 12 to 8:00 p.m. Family hour from 6 to 7:00 p.m. at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Avenue.
