Jennings: Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM honoring the life of Rena Richard "Cricket" Bergeaux, 77, who passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014. She will be laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery in Scott, LA with Father David Broussard officiating her services.
Rena "Cricket" was born on February 2, 1937 in Crowley, LA to the late Joseph Richard and the late Eva Abshire Richard. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a wife and mother. She loved fishing, cooking and raising chickens.
Rena "Cricket" is survived by her two loving daughters, Viola A. Guidry of Welsh, LA and Pamela G. Sanders and her husband, Gary of Iowa, LA; one brother, John Bernard Richard of Estherwood, LA; she also leaves behind to cherish in her memories, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Joseph and Eva Richard; her first husband, Nelson Guidry, Sr.; second husband, Howard Bergeaux; her beloved son, Nelson Joseph Guidry, Jr. and her beloved daughter, Debra Cormier; three brothers and five sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 2nd at 8:00 AM until the time of her services at 10:00 AM.
