Alfred Eugene Youmans of Grand Rapids, Michigan, born in Saginaw, MI on October 17, 1928, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Youmans; and brother, Jim Youmans. He is survived by his son, Mike Youmans; daughter Patti (Dan) Radecki; sister, Mary Johnson; grandchildren, Elizabeth of Sylvania, OH, Jacob of Chicago, IL, and Joshua Radecki of Grand Rapids, Samantha of Klawock, AK and Derek Youmans of Wasilla, AK; also nieces and nephews. Al was a veteran of the Korean War, member of Msgr. Moleski Knights of Columbus Council 8291, founding parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, retiree of Manufacturers Life Insurance Co. Al's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Stonebridge Manor for all the compassionate care during his final years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2750 Burton St. SE Grand Rapids. Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider presiding. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 5-8 PM at O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd, Grand Rapids.
