Daniel E. “Dan” Holland, 82, Peru, passed away at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

He was born on Feb. 21, 1923 in Peru to Earl and Martha (Donat) Holland. He married Peggy Loe Holland on Nov. 20, 1988, and she survives.

Holland was the owner of Club 14. He is a member of the Peru Maennerchor, American Legion, Peru Eagles, Literary Aid Society and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include a son, Tim Holland, Peru; two step-sons, Chad Torrence, Peru, and Dwayne Torrence, Peru; two sisters, Martha Opple and Adeline Clark, Peru; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, a son, Daniel Holland, Jr.; and his first wife, Zelma Ann Holland.


Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home with Rev. Francis Kilcline officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
