Gene Berry, 68 of Odessa, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at St. Mary`s Hospital of Blue Springs. He was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Phoenix, AZ.
Mr. Berry and had lived in the Kansas City area and Grove, OK, before moving to Odessa in 1972.
He owned and managed Gene Berry's Landscape Co., Odessa, since 1990. He had been a carpenter, working out of Carpenter`s Local Union 41, in Kansas City commercial construction since 1948, retiring in 1990.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Eakin in 1979, and a grandchild, Brooke Snyder.
His survivors include his wife, Jeanne Berry of the home; four sons, Steve and Donna Eakin of Sebastopol, CA; Craig Seevers of Kansas City, MO; Brian and Kim Seevers of Glen, MS; and Chris and Deborah Berry of Kansas City, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Doug Snyder of Odessa, MO; three brothers, Everett Berry of Salinas, CA; Bob Berry of Tahlequah, OK; and Bill Berry of Grove, OK; two sisters, Bonnie Boethin of Oologah, OK; and Lou Ann Murry of Louisburg, KS; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at the Ralph O. Jones Chapel, Odessa. Burial will be in Odessa Cemetery. Friends may call tonight at the chapel.
