Ray Elvin Greer, 62, of Monticello, MS died June 28, 2014 at his residence.

Graveside service will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. Burial will be in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home of McComb are in charge of arrangements. Mr. Greer was born on March 2, 1952 in Pike County, MS He was the son of Charles E. Greer and Odera Dunaway Greer.

Ray Greer was many great things. A true friend, a devoted husband, dedicated father and loving grandfather. Ray loved the Mississippi woods and all of its game and glory. Ray was a paperman for the Enterprise Journal for 30 years where his children learned the ethics of hard work and living an honest life.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Barber Greer of Monticello; three sons, Kevin Ray Greer of Colorado Springs, CO, Bo Greer and wife Sherrie of Mayetta, KS and Eric Greer of Tylertown; one daughter, Sherri Greer of Columbus, MS; three stepdaughters, Tammy Lynn Nations of Brookhaven, Teressa Michelle Voorhies of Monticello and Tina Lea Voorhies of Biloxi; his mother-in-law, Audrey Mae Carithers of Brookhaven; one brother, Roger Greer and wife Sarah; one sister, Jimmie Freeman and husband, Billy; Seven grandchildren, Alicia, Izabella, Alana, Chloe, Josh, Tristan and Aiden.
