Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Colonial Funeral Home (127 Ellisboro Road, Madison, NC). Interment will follow in Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Rockingham County on June 8, 1944, John was a farmer and a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Corum Hutchens; son, James Eddie Hutchens; parents, John Eddie Hutchens, Sr. and Clara Belle Hudson Hutchens; brothers: Woody Hutchens, Fred Hutchens; and sisters: Maggie Paschal and Betty Warf.
Survivors include sons: John Hutchens (Melisa) and Thomas Hutchens; daughters: Vickie Hutchens and Melisa Sizemore (Sam); sisters: Arlene and Frances Easter; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at 710 Westwood Drive, Eden, NC.
