Doris Green, age 84, of Blairsville, GA passed away Thursday, June 14 2012 in the Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, GA.
Ms. Green was born in Phil Campbell, Alabama on May 21, 1928 to the late Fred Marvin Towe and Pearl Missouri Key Towe. She worked at Fannin Nursing Home as an LPN and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
She is surived by her husband, Walter Green of Morganton, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Deborah Ballew of Emerson, GA, Fred Wandell and Cheryl Ballew of Morganton, Joe Ballew of Ashville, NC, and Marty Ballew of Dahlonega, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Chuck Taylor or Morganton; brothers, Alton Towe of Mineral Bluff, Bill Towe of McCaysville, and Jerry Towe of Epworth; sister, Desma Chastain of Naples, FL; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Roger Beck officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ballew, Brian Abercrombie, Josh Ballew, Caleh Ballew, Brad Thomas, and Justin Thomas. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memory Garden.
