BOOTHBAY HARBOR -- Robert Benjamin Adams Sr., 84, of Boothbay Harbor died on Jan. 1, 2013.
He was born on April 16, 1928, in Bath, the son of Benjamin and Fannie Bailey Adams. He grew up in Wiscasset and graduated from Wiscasset Academy in 1946.
While in high school and during World War II, he was a member of the State Guard. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He served as Page in the 93rd Legislature. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, past High Priest of Royal Arch Chapter, former member of Rotary Club, Eastern Star, Wiscasset Fire Department and American Legion Post 54 of Wiscasset.
Bob was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Louise Adams Tripp; and his wife, Patricia Giles Adams. Survivors include daughter Betty Jeanne Adams Maddocks and her husband Sewall Jr., son Robert B. Adams Jr. and companion Lisa Orne; grandchildren, Jennifer M. Adams and her husband A.J. Nelson, Lynnette E. Adams Mayotte and her husband James Mayotte, Sewall T. Maddocks III, Benjamin A. Maddocks, Jason E. Maddocks; great- grandchildren, Natalie R. Mayotte and Cameron J. Mayotte, all of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor; one sister-in law, Elizabeth (Betty) Giles Richardson of West Bath; and niece Sandra Tripp Pitrowski and her husband John Pitrowski of Florida.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 6-8 p.m., at Simmons, Harrington and Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay Harbor. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m., at Simmons, Harrington and Hall Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lincoln Lodge #3 of Wiscasset.
