Vigil service for Sheryl A. Funk, 34, will be 7 tonight at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Joseph Bahr officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Mrs. Funk died Monday, May 17, 2004, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Aug. 18, 1969, at Scott City, to George and Rosetta Weber Tuzicka. She grew up in Scott City, graduated from Scott Community High School in 1987 and then attended Garden City Community College.
On May 12, 1990, she married Trevor G. Funk at Scott City. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Garden City, where she worked as a claims processor for the State Farm Insurance claims office. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her children play sports, home decorating, her pets and riding with her husband on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Trey and Tristan Funk, both of the home; her mother, Scott City; and a sister, Janell Ludowese of Scott City. She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation hours are until 6 tonight at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, St. Dominic Catholic Church of Garden City or St. Joseph Catholic Church of Scott City, all in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.
