A life-long Argenta area resident, Linda L. Gisinger, 64 passed away 6:20 P.m. June 30, 2014 at McKinley Court, Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL with Pastor George Adam officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL. Friends may call Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Prairie River Historical Museum of Argenta, IL or Malawi Wells in care of Argenta Presbyterian Church.

Linda was born November 22, 1949 in Decatur IL, the eldest daughter of Earl F. and Etta (Wantland) Gisinger. All her education was in the Argenta-Oreana school district where she graduated as valedictorian with the class of 1967.

Linda went on to earn her Stenographic Certificate at Brown's Business College in Decatur, IL. She began her legal secretary career in 1968 and worked in various Decatur law offices.

Linda was a charter member of the Macon –Moultrie Counties Legal Secretaries Association and held various offices and chairmanships. She obtained her Professional Legal Secretary Certification from the National Association of Legal Secretaries.

Linda is survived by her sisters: Loretta (Tom) Reed and Lura (Danny) Weatherford, both of Oreana, IL. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Heather L. Reed, of Oreana, IL, Heidi (Ken) Schaub of Weldon, IL, James (Kelly) Reed of Evansville, IN, Andrew (Josie) Weatherford of Forsyth and Evan (Daniellle) Weatherford of Ferdinand, IN. She leaves great nieces and nephews: Gavin, Dylan, Charlotte and Eli (expected in September).

She was preceded in death by her parents.
