Mrs. Pauline "Betty Ann" Carter was born September 23, 1930 in Dyersburg, TN. She was the daughter of Paul and Lina Bell (Merchant) Crape.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Alvin" Carter, Sr.; son, David Lee Adams; parents, Lina Bell and Paul Crape; brother, Willie Noble Crape.

CARTER, Mrs. Pauline "Betty Ann"-age 83 passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 24, 2014 with 10:00 am family hour at Detroit Street Church of God G-5328 Detroit St., Flint, MI 48505. Bishop L. Earl Stewart officiating. The final resting place for Mrs. Carter will be Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, Burton, MI. Calling hours are 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Friday, May 23, 2014 at Serenity Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Pauline "Betty Ann" Carter was born September 23, 1930 in Dyersburg, TN. She was the daughter of Paul and Lina Bell (Merchant) Crape.

On November 6, 1954, Betty Ann married the love of her life, James Alvin Carter, Sr. The couple relocated to Flint, MI in 1954 to begin their new life together.

Betty Ann loved to cook, entertain family and friends and watch her "stories." She was a great story teller who often left the listener in stitches. Her true passions were her children and grandchildren. She was he consummate volunteer, winning Volunteer of the Year Awards with Beecher Head Start and Dailey Elementary School. She was greatly loved by the staff, bus drivers and other students who lovingly called her "Granny."

On May 17th, 2014, Betty Ann went home to be with The Lord. God opened the doors of Heaven and said, "Well done, you can come on in." She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Alvin" Carter, Sr.; son, David Lee Adams; parents, Lina Bell and Paul Crape; brother, Willie Noble Crape.

Betty Ann leaves to cherish her memory: 4 children, James (Christina) Carter, Jr., Steven Carter, Lisa (Earl) Lewis and Artina (Kenneth) Sadler all of Flint; 16 grandchildren, DaMarko (Octavie), Adonna (Albert), Anquan, James III, Maria, LaQuita, Montrell, Antione, DeAndre, Earl Jr., Joseph, Brian, Trestian (Kapri), Porsha, Maaliek and Kenni; 6 great-grandchildren, Abrienna, DaMarko II, Makenzie, Nyssa, Avalon and Anylah; siblings, Jimmy, James, Mary, Jerry and Henry (Floretta) Crape of Milwaukee, WI and Rozelle (Willie) Bertha of Novi, MI and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express special thanks to: Detroit St. Church of God Church Family, Heartland Hospice, Mary, Nancy, Mary Jo), family and friends.
