William Boyd died at the age of 45, executed by Lethal Injection at Holman Prison. He was convicted of murdering a couple, Fred and Evelyn Blackmon, him and another man broke into the home to rob it, in Anniston, Alabama. Both were bound and gagged and driven to a wooded area. They were shot to death with a .25 caliber handgun. Fred was put in the trunk of his car and it was driven into the Coosa River. Evelyn was chopped up and placed into a metal drum. His partner, Robert Milstead, got a plea agreement, testifying against Boyd at trial. Milstead recieved a life sentence. Originally the Jury voted for Life without Parole for Boyd, but the Judge overruled the Jury due to the heinous nature of the crime. His final meal consisted of: Chicken, French Fries, Applesauce, a tomato and orange drink, a meatball sandwich, a philly steak sandwich, A V8 Splash drink and a coffee. He declined any last words. He was on death row 24 years.
