John Hagen Passes..WELL KNOWN FARMER OF NORTHCOTE CALLED TO ETERNAL REST AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
The death of John Hagen on Wednesday, June 17th came as a shock to his family and friends. He had been ailing for some time, but most of the time had been able to be around. His illness had not become necessarily alarming until recently, and he was taken to the hospital June 12th. He rapidly declined, however, and passed away on the afternoon of June 17th at the age of 87 years and 8 months.
Mr. Hagen was born in Norway in the year 1863 and came to this country in 1867. He was married in 1884 to Helen Borgan, since which time he has resided in Kittson County, making his home for he last few years at Northcote. He leaves to mourn his death his widow and nine children as follows; Mrs. George Walters, Indiana; Oscar and Chester, Mont; Emil, Penn, N.D.; Algot, Reserve, Mont; Mae and Mrs. Walter Cashman, St. Paul, Minn; Mrs. Ring, Brainerd, Minn; Mrs. A. C. Sunderland and Alfred Hagen, Northcote, besides a number of grand children and friends.
The funeral was conducted last Friday afternoon and the remains were interred at Greenwood cemetery, Hallock. The heartfelt sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereft family.
