Final Rites
Held For Mrs.
Ella Watkins


Funeral services for Mrs. Ella G. Watkins,88, were held here this morning at 11 o'clock with the Rev. E.H. Phillips officiating. Burial was to follow in the Minden Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Green-Kleinegger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Watkins died at her home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock after a lengthy illness. She was born in Claiborne parish in 1872 and had been a resident of Minden for about 60 years. She was married to Dr. J. Glenn Gladney who died in 1918. She later married the late Judge Lynn K. Watkins.

Mrs. Watkins was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Minden.

Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. Lester N. Almond, Mrs. J. Clyde Jones, Mrs. J.M. Richardson Sr., Loran C. Cook, all of Minden, Mrs. James T. Means Jr. of Shreveport and Mrs. E.D. Barkerhouse of Springhill; two step-daughters, Mrs. Clyde Toadvin and Miss Flora Glenn Watkins; one step-son, John R. Watkins and one brother, Roy Cook of Ruston.
