Mrs. Armstrong was born on March 5, 1923 in Harlan, Kentucky a daughter of the late Adam Rose and Vesty Lankford Rose.
She was a beautician and employed with Mead Corportation for 25 years.
She was of the Baptist Faith.
Mrs. Armstrong was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Eugene Addington and her second husband, Charles Armstrong; one son, William Addington; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Hillman and husband Bill and Delores Healey both of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Paige Healey, of Mahwah, NJ., Stephen Addington and wife Dana, of Greenville, SC, and Amy Wilkinson and husband Shawn, of Kingsport, TN.; two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Addington, of Greenville, SC; and Bella Wilkinson of Kingsport, TN; one sister, Pauline Berry of Big Stone Gap, VA; a special friend, Barbara Brown of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Christus Garden of East Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
