Born in Keokuk Iowa (Graham Hospital) moved to Webster Groves Missouri at about age 10.
1 half year at MIT then Grinnell University IOWA
He met his wife Nancy Richards at Camp Minnewanca (American Youth Foundation Camp) in Michigan where both were leaders and camp buglers for the boys and girls camps.
USAAF Captain and pilot during WWII flew B-26s in France toward the end of that war. With Squadron that bombed Thayngen Switzerland (by mistake!?) Christmas Eve 1944. At the end of the war in Europe came home and drove west with his wife Nancy to Passadena California for assignment to the Japanese side of the war. With the atomic bomb and the end of the war he was spared that assignment and returned to Grinnell to finish college.
After graduation he moved to Ohmaha Neb where he worked in the National Bank. In 1952 the family moved to White Plains NY and he worked with the American Institute of Banking {Its CEO} and the American Bankers Association in NYC. The family moved to Reston VA in 1971 when the ABA moved to Washington DC. He retired in 1983.
He loved to travel and his job As chief executive of the American Institute of Banking which had chapters all across the country to afforded him many opportunities to travel to give speeches and organize conventions etc. He and Nancy traveled with the Friendship Force after moving to Reston.
He died Aug 7 1991 from infection due to Smoldering Leukemia.
