Robert Leo Searle rejoined his adored wife Illa on March 27. Leo was born Sept 20, 1921 in Whiterocks, UT to William and Mary Jane Searle and married Illa Weeks on Aug 15, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple, sharing 70 years and 6 sons together. Leo retired from Wasatch Electric and honored his membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles and as a LDS High Priest. Leo loved camping, hunting, fishing, being outdoors and the freedom an RV brought him. He often dreamed aloud of packing up his RV and taking to the road with his beloved dog, Sassy, to visit favorite places such as Strawberry Reservoir, Soapstone, UT and Quartzsite, AZ. Leo's passion for (somewhat) harmless mischief has been passed down through the generations and he will always be remembered for pulling pranks and tricking his grandkids. Leo is preceded in death by his wife Illa, parents, 6 sisters, 4 brothers and son Marvin. He is survived by his best friend Sassy, sons & families: Roy (Sheila Gleason), Kay & Peggi, Raymond & Kaye, Stanley & Tami, Kurt & Heidi, daughter-in-law Fe (Marvin), 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, UT. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening and 1 hour prior to the services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
