SANTA FE — Mr. William John "Bill" Wilkinson passed from this life Tuesday afternoon in Nassau Bay.

Born November 24, 1923, in Dubuque, Iowa, Mr. Wilkinson had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1980, previously of Galveston. He retired from the U.S. Navy and Air Force after 23 years and had been a seaman with Lykes Lines Shipping Company, retiring from them after 20 years. Bill was a member of the VFW Post 5400-Hitchcock, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3789 - Santa Fe, American Legion No. 20 - Galveston, Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1 Mooseheart, ElinoiSj and was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Jean Wilkinson, Santa Fe; step-daughter, Terry Last, Santa Fe; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and 2 grandsons.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, March 14,1997, in the Chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Pastor Alan Splawn officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p jn. Thursday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, 9253501.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to VFW Post No. 5400, 11230 Highway Six, Santa Fe, Texas 77510.
