LeCLAIRE, John David – of Flint, age 52, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at McLaren Hospital, Flint. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 PM Thursday, March 6, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Davison. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. On Thursday, there will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Santiago VanTiem's College Fund in care of Kathy LeClaire. John was born in Flint, MI on December 21, 1961, son of Lionel and Brenda (Cornelius) LeClaire. He married Kathy (Francois) Lowe on June 6, 1998 at St. John Catholic Church, Davison. John grew up in Lapeer, graduating from Lapeer West High School in 1980. He then continued his education at U of M Flint, earning his Bachelor's Degree in English. John was an assistant manager for Big Lots for 18 years. He loved to golf and enjoyed all sports but especially the Green Bay Packers, U of M and the Detroit Tigers. John's greatest love was his family and he will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathy; children, Wendy (Kiel) VanTiem, Chris Lowe; his pride and joy, grandson, Santiago VanTiem; parents, Lionel and Brenda LeClaire; brother, Joseph (Tina) LeClaire; sister, Ann (Stacy) LeClaire-Mitchell; nephews, Maxwell, Benjamin, Luke and Austin; niece and goddaughter, Madeline. He was preceded in death by brother, Thomas LeClaire; mother-in-law, Mary Bush; grandparents, August and Lucille Cornelius, Dona and Ada LeClaire.
