Obituary
Minnie Ann Oliver Norem, daughter of William and Martha Oliver, was born on Feb. 27, 1870 at St. Cloud, Minnesota, and she departed this life at 1:00 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 12, 1947 at Bowman, North Dakota, at the mature age of 77 years, 11 months and 15 days.
She was united in marriage to Mr. Alexander Norem in Primghar, Iowa in November 1900. The couple lived at Forest City, Iowa, until 1910 and in North Dakota until their deaths. Mr. Norem preceded his wife in death nine years ago.
Mrs. Norem served as a school teacher and as a nurse as well as a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Sunset Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving to mourn her passing are three daughters: Mavis, Mrs. Alvin Anderson of Scranton, N. D.; Hattie, Mrs. Selmer Gausemel of Drake, N. D.; and Irene, Mrs. Glen Emsch of Hettinger, N. D.; one son, Marion Norem of Bowman, N. D.; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. A. C. Bach of Belle Forche, S. D., and Mrs. C. M. Goodier of Sioux City; and one brother, Mr. O. K. Oliver of Sioux City.
Funeral services were conducted at Bowman, North Dakota on Feb. 16 by the Reverend Kermit Graves and at the Seivert Funeral Home in Primghar, Iowa, at 2:00 o'clock on Wednesday, February 19, 1947, by the Reverend Forrest E. Flowers.
Interment was in the cemetery at Primghar, Iowa.
