Charlotte J. Lovejoy, 81, passed away May 20, 2014 at a Marshall Healthcare with her family by her side. She was born in Pembroke April 26, 1933 the daughter of the late Harold and Annie(Little) Mills. She worked for many years as a secretary at the Bucks Harbor Air Force Base until its closure. She then worked at many seasonal jobs until her retirement. She loved watching the Red Sox and Nascar especially Jimmie Johnson. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, playing Beano, and playing Yahtzee with her late friend Carolyn Wood.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Elmer Lovejoy Jr.; three daughters, Joleen Waldrop and husband Daryl of Virginia Beach, VA; Melissa Simmons and husband Gary of Barrington, NH; and Melanie Dodier and fiance Mark Ladner of Rochester, NH; a brother Bruce Mills of Searsport; a sister Florence Brown of Winchendon, MA; six grandchildren, Brent, Jason, Amanda, Chris, Joshua, and Aaron; five great-grandchildren, Shelby, Faith, Lukas, Kaylin, and Chloe; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by five brothers, Sheldon, Stanley, Junius, Chesley, and Vaughn; a sister Eleanor Matthews, in-laws Elmer Sr and Gertrude, and her best friend Carolyn Wood.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hoppy and Mary Lou Moore, Candy Wood, and the staff at Marshall Healthcare for the wonderful care they provided. Graveside services will be held at the Bucks Harbor Hillside Cemetery.
