Frank Cecil Roberts, 89, of Springville, died at 7:08 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born June 12, 1925 in Martin Co., he was the son of Albert and Alta Mae (Smith) Roberts. He married Marjorie Shelton in 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1956. He later married Norma J. Johnson in 1957 and she survives. He had worked as an assembler for RCA, at NWSC Crane and as a custodian at Eastern School. He has been disabled since 1977. He was a member of the Bedford Seventh Day Adventist Church and a follower of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed basketball and history.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Springville; children, Stephen R. Roberts and wife, Liz of Tucson, AZ, Michael A. Roberts and wife, Linda of Springville, Donald L. Roberts and wife, Judi of Solsberry, Danny J. Roberts and wife, Kim of Springville, Frank C. Roberts, Jr. and wife, Kim of Bloomfield, Wayne D. Roberts of Springville; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; a brother, Herb Roberts of Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a daughter, Dixie J. Roberts Elkins; brothers, Paul, John, Opal and Everett; sister, Nellie Roberts.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Friday, July 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Stephen Delong officiating and honorary speaker, Michael Huffman. Burial will follow in Owensburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, July 10th and from 1 pm until the hour of service at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Pallbearers are Stephen, Michael, Donald, Danny, Frank, Jr. and Wayne Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are 6 grandsons, Estaban, Jeremy, Matthew, Jake, Joseph and Timothy.

The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to Dimes for Cuba.
