Daisy Batz, 97, of Lake City, formerly of Yetter, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.
Funeral service was Monday, March 1, 2010, at Lake City Union Church. The Rev. Betty Weidert officiated. Burial was in Lake City Cemetery. Lampe Funeral Home of Lake City was in charge of arrangements.

A daughter of William and Rosa (Bates) Stevens, she was born Feb. 2, 1913, at Donnellson, Ill. On Dec. 13, 1930, she married John Batz at Rockwell City. She lived 50 years of her married life on a farm near Yetter, helping on the farm and raising her family. Following her husband's death, she moved to Lake City.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Auburn, and she enjoyed quilting, baking, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children: Daryl Batz of Washington, Kenneth and Jeanne Batz of Lake City, Marlene and LeRoy Miller of Churdan, Juanita Suiters of Tempe, Ariz., and Steve and Elaine Batz of Carroll; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sisters: Millie Sennings of Springfield, Ill., and Lila Vermily of Pocahontas, Ark.

Mrs. Batz was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in 1980; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild.
