Born Sept. 9, 1928, in Lafayette, he was the son of Croft and Bertha Hefner Binkley. His mother survives along with his wife, Kay Jeannean Biederman Binkley; two sons, Carl Charles of Jackson, Mich., and Max of Florida; three daughters, Connie Sue and Beverly Ann, both at home, and Bobbi of Florida; a stepdaughter, Rachel Lucille Nelson, at home; a brother, Carl of Wapakoneta; a stepson, Billy Russ Nelson, at home; and two grandchildren.
He was a life member of Post 1275 Veterans of Foreign Wars and served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years.
Chiles and Sons - Laman West Wayne Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
