Peter John Ellis 48 of Imperial Beach, California formerly of Elyria passed away suddenly Wednesday July 2, 2014 in Chula Vista, California. He was born July 27,1965 in Elyria. He was a graduate of Elyria High School. Peter was a 21 year veteran of the United States Navy. Peter loved his dogs. Survivors include his wife Cheryl Mendes Ellis , his daughters Vera and Neva both of Florida , sons Peter John II of Akron , Daniel of San Diego , and Steven of Connecticut , sisters Cynthia (Stanley) Trycinski of Streetsboro , Loretta (Robert Moran) Minadeo of Elyria , grandchildren Lillian Ellis and Jerimiah Hargrove. Peter was preceded in death by his parents Daniel Ellis and Patricia Ellis McIntyre (nee Cosma-Constantino) , sister Bonnie Ellis- Brown. Family will be present to receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday July 13, 2014 at the Laubenthal- Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57 ), Elyria 440-322-4626 .Graveside services will be held 12:30PM Monday July 14 , 2014 at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd.
