Zemery Herrell Ledford, 88, of Taylors, SC, and husband of the late Mary Ledford, died Sunday, February 5, 2006.

Born on December 22, 1917, in Franklin, NC, he was a son of the late William Ransom Ledford and Elsie Mae (Cabe) Ledford.

Mr. Ledford served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the 25 Division in the Pacific Theatre (Guadalcanal, Philippines), worked in the printing industry for more that 50 years with Mitchell Printing and Greenville Printing, and was a member of Northside United Methodist Church, where he was a member for 43 years.

Surviving are his son, Stuart Ledford of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Kenneth Ledford and Gordon Ledford, both of Franklin, NC; and a sister, Bernice Buchanan of Atlantic, NC.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Barry Cannon officiating.

The family received friends following the service in the Remembrance Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Northside United Methodist Church, 435 Summit Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
