For Hugh Lawson Miller, age 41, prominent farmer of Union County who died suddenly Wednesday morning were held yesterday afternoon at Weddington Church with the pastor, Rev. F. W. Shinn, officiating. Burial was made in Weddington cemetery.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, two sons, Thomas and Hugh, Jr. of Waxhaw; three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Haywood of Durham, Mrs. Frank McCorkle of Charlotte, Mrs. Audrey Baker of Lancaster; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Miller of Providence; two sisters, Mrs. J. S. Helms of Charlotte,. Mrs. Sam Fincher of Weddington; two brothers, John W. Miller of Kansas City and W. H. Miller of Providence.
In error, his brother, Samuel F. Miller, Jr. was omitted from the obituary. Samual never married and lived with his parents.
Hugh was my grandfather and died with a massive heart attack at the age of 41. He had been in the garden pulling corn and had sat down on his front porch to rest when he expired.
