William Hamblin Crowell, 57, of Floyd, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at his home. He was born October 31, 1956, in Rome, NY, the son of William and Ruth Davenport Crowell. He graduated from Oriskany High School in 1976 and MVCC in 1978 with an associates degree and attended SUNY IT. In 1991, Will married Jeanne Lasher. Will was a facilities manager for Assured Information Security, Inc. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church, Rome. Will was a member of the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department since 1990 and had been a Lieutenant, Captain, Third Assistant Chief and First Assistant Chief. He was Chaplain from 1998 to 2005 and was a Commissioner Member and chairman from 1993 to 2011 and 2013. Will was also a member of the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout and Assistant Scout Master. He was Justice of the Peace for the town of Floyd, member of the American Red Cross, and was very active with American Heart Run and Walk. He is survived by his daughter and her husband; his father, William; a sister; two stepsons; a grandson and three nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and his brother, Mark...
