Henry Gustavus Butterfield, 76, Centralia, died in a Centralia hospital Saturday.

He was born Oct. 18, 1898, at Bunker Creek and was a lifetime resident of Lewis County. His parents were pioneers in the Bunker Creek area, moving there in 1883. Mr. Butterfield had lived in Centralia since 1921 and was a logger and owner of Butterfield Pole Yards from 1941 to 1960. He was a member of Fords Prairie Grange.

He is survived by one son, Don K. Butterfield, New York City; one daughter, Margaret Dunisch, River Pine, Calif.; one brother, Wyman Butterfield, Longview; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Rupert, Centralia, and Mrs. Eve Webster, Medford, Ore., seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
