Rev John W. Giles dies at 40
John W. Giles, 40, of St Michael's Church in Lowell died in Salem Hospital this morning after a brief illness. Born in Lynn he attended St Joseph's School in Lynn and was a graduate of St Mary's High school in that city. He graduated from St John's Seminary Brighton with the class of 1956 at which time he was ordained by the late Richard Cardinal Cushing. He served for seven years at St Benedict's in Somerville and was then transferred to St Michael's in Lowell where he had served for past eight years.

His parents were John William Giles, Sr. (a naval engineer) and Johanna M. O'Grady. Johanna was the daughter of Michael and Julia (nee Horrigan) O'Grady.
