James R Davis died at his home in East Waynesburg, Saturday, May 14, aged 77 years, of a complication of diseases. Mr. Davis was born near Morgantown, W. Va., but later removed to Carmichaels, Pa., and resided there until twenty years ago, when he removed to Waynesburg. He was a life-long member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was highly respected. Beside his wife he is survived by two sons, S. B. and Jacob R. Davis, and one daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Patterson, all of East Waynesburg. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. L. S. Wilkinson. Monday morning the remains were taken to Carmichaels and interment was made in the Laurel Point cemetery.
