In Benjamin Bonner's will of 1-19-1815, Delitha was given a piece of land lying on the right hand of the path leading from Nathan Byars to the furnace, one young horse, one cow and calf, one feather bed, and additional land one hundred acres more or less.
She and James Nicholas Merriman were married on 7-18-1789 in Granville Co., North Carolina. They were living in Montgomery Co., North Carolina in 1800, and journeyed to Tennessee after that date. He died abt. 1808, and she re-married on 5-12-1821 in Lawrence, Tennessee to William Edwards. She and James Nicholas Merriman were the parents of three known daughters: Deticha, Lina and Tabitha Merriman.
1840 U.S. Census indicates that she and husband, Will Edwards, are living in Fayette Co., IL employed in agriculture. According to 1850 U.S. Census, she is living near the family of James and Tabitha (her daughter) Stokes in Ramsey, Illinois, at age 79 years. In the 1860 U.S. Census, she is living with the family at the age of 91 years old. She was probably buried on the family farm.
