Mrs. Leila Dunn Victim of Death - Popular Wife and Mother Succumbs At Bruce Clinic - Burial at Concord.
Mrs. Leila Mae Dunn, age 23, who resided near Ellard, died at the Calhoun County Hospital, Bruce, on Saturday, Aug. 10. Funeral services and interment took place on Sunday at Concord, the services being conducted by Rev. J. H. Childress, assisted by Revs. Buford Roane and L. E. Roane. A large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the the impressive funeral services, which were directed by Thornton Funeral Home. The quartet rendered several songs for the services.
Mrs. Dunn was born Oct. 3, 1923, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Jenkins. She was married to Mr. Morris Dunn on November 21, 1942. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, which she joined in 1937, and of which she was a loyal and devoted member. Mrs. Dunn was highly respected throughout the county and had hundreds of friends and admirers. She was a splendid young woman, who was useful to the church, schools and community.
She is survived by both her husband and parents; by two daughters, Linda Carroll and Annie Mae; by a son, Morris Elvis, Jr.; by several brothers and sisters, and by her grand parents, Mr. A. E. Jenkins and Mrs and Mrs. J. Joblin.
