He was born on Sept. 28, 1960, in Canastota, the son of Royce Sr. and Maryann Krais Allen.
Arnie spent his early years in Canastota and was a 1979 graduate of Canastota High School. He later lived in Perryville & Eaton, and has lived in Peterboro for the last 16 years.
He was a stonemason, and had worked for Aspinall's Landscaping & Tree Nursery in Chittenango for 10 years, and had recently started a masonry landscaping business with his son, called Allen's Stoneskapes.
Arnie enjoyed collecting coins, fossils, old bottles, antique cars and furniture, and spending time with his family and his dog, Misty. He enjoyed creating artistic works using stone and rocks.
Surviving are one son, Austin D. Allen of Morrisville; his girlfriend, Alicia Bair of Syracuse; his mother, Maryann Allen of Canastota; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Royce Jr. and Bonnie Allen of Tully, Michael Allen Sr. of Canastota, and Edward and Aimee Allen of East Syracuse; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Don Clark, and Debbie and Chris Walters, all of Chittenango; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Arnie was predeceased by his father, Royce C. Allen Sr.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., Canastota. The Rev. Mick Keville, pastor of CrossRoads Community Church, N. Chittenango, will officiate. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 201 James St., Canastota. In his memory, contributions may be made to the Benefit for Austin Allen, c/o Empower Federal Credit Union, 7320 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville, NY 13066, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
